Should there be a limit on CEO's pay, (and/or any other Americans pay, for that matter, outside of government)?
The answer, in one word, is "no"!
Why? Because to say "Yes" to this question is, for example, Socialism.
Indeed to say "Yes" to this question is to agree with the basic tenet of, and thus invite the freedom-killing consequences of, Marxism/Communism (and all it's Totalitarian "Siamese Twins Joined At the Head" such as "Socialism/Liberalism"), which are "Class Envy" and "Class Warfare", which features the belief that it's government's place to dictate, among other things, what's "too much money" for you, me, and anybody else!
Such things are, or at least were, poisonous to Americans with our basic founding principles of a free society of free, self-governing people, exercising our freedoms, engaging in the free exchange of goods, and services based on free market/free enterprise capitalism.
Of course now that I've said that word "capitalism", we can all practically hear the Marxists/Communists/Socialists/Liberals immediately attacking it, declaring "capitalism" is precisely why the question at hand not only must be asked, but answered with "Yes", and imposed likewise by government! Oh, as if Liberalism/Socialism, etc., doesn't also run on "Capital" (money)!
Well, the "dirty little secret" is that Free Capitalism, and Totalitarianism/Marxism/Communism/Socialism/Liberalism, all run on "capital (money)" and resources, or else they cannot and will not function and survive, let alone "spead"! The difference between "Capitalism" and "Totalitarianism/Marxism/Socialism/Liberalism is who controls the resources and the capital (money)"...the actual people, as expressed in the founding principles and documents of the U.S., or The State (government) as in Totalitarianism/Marxism/Communism/Socialism/Liberalism, etc.
Of course, as the totalitarian Marxist/Communists/Socialists/Liberals attack that word "capitalism", they also reveal their belief that the people (private individuals, groups, and companies, etc) can't be trusted to govern ourselves and our rescources, etc, so of course their solution, no matter how they try to disguise it, is government control/dictating, such as in the case of the question at hand.
Indeed, while the Marxists/Communists/Socialists/Liberals attack "Capitalism", they also reveal their Marxist belief that the people cannot be trusted to govern themselves and so, in their book, there must be those who join with "the Politburo (government)", "in the name of 'The People'", or course, and so become somehow "wiser than", the people who cannot, after all, be trusted to govern ourselves and all of our resources.
Thus it is just like Thomas Jefferson said (Quote): "Sometimes it is said that man cannot be trusted with the governing of himself. Can he, then, be trusted with the government of others? Or have we found Angels in the form or kings to govern him?"
So, if the answer to the question "Should there be a limit on CEO's pay (and/or any other Americans pay, for that matter, outside of government)? is "Yes", then "Stick a fork in us, and call us 'Boiled frogs'"!
Why? Because, just like (quote) "How do you boil a frog? 1-degree-at-a-time!", a "Yes" answer to this question shows that some have already succeeded in "boiling" us, ("1-degree-at-a-time", of course), closer to being in the U.S.S.A (United Socialist States of America) than many people have realized to this point!
